Congratulations to the nine students that took part in the Canterbury Schools Orienteering competition held on the weekend of the 15/16 September; Kyla H1, Maria H3, James N1, Jimmy N4, Ethan R1, Clara R3, John S1, James S2 and Matthew S4.

Saturdays event was a super fast sprint event held at South Brighton Domain. Sundays event was the long distance competition held at Bottle Lake Forest.  All students managed solid runs on Day 1.  Day 2 provided the students with some navigational challenges in the forest and a long time was spent looking for one control.

Despite this difficulty the South students showed their perseverance and resilience to complete the courses, giving us enough points over the two day competition to place us second in the Year 7/8 competition (combined boys and girls) just behind Mt Pleasant School. A great result.
