The school speech final was held on Tuesday 13th August. Averill Manning from the Ministry of Education joined us as our guest judge and she had a very difficult job of choosing a Year 7 winner and a Year 8 winner. The competition was strong as we heard 'If I ruled the world'  themed speeches on Racism, Tik Tok, Palm Oil, Tolerance, Global Warming, the importance of Soil and why we need to eat Insects! The Year 7 competition was won by Hanna. She delivered an informative and entertaining speech convincing us to eat insects. Maia won the Year 8 competition with a powerful delivery on the topic of Global Warming and how that may ruin her chance to rule the world. Congratulations to all our finalists and thanks to Averill for coming along to be our judge.
